Exhibits are not to be removed before 4.00pm Saturday 22 Oct.

 Prize money will be available for collection from the office after 3.00pm Saturday.

Brumby's Best of Show - $200 awarded to the best judged quilt by the WAQA judges.

CWA Encouragement Award - $25 donated by the Rosa Brook CWA, awarded by the judges

Viewer's Choice - $100 machine quilting voucher donated by Maureen Munro of Margaret River Machine Quilting

2011 Theme Quilt - "Piece of Cake" - prize donated by Craft Collections in Bunbury.

 

Please note: Quilts do not have to be related to the theme.  The theme challenge is something extra to inspire you. Enter your quilt in the appropriate section and then if you believe your quilt addresses the Theme Challenge, please mark you exhibition card "Theme" so we can also include it for that award.

 

 Class

  • 1. Quilt or wallhanging, no side greater than 1 metre, any technique
  • 2. Quilt or wallhanging, with 1 or more sides greater than 1 metre, any technique
  • 3. Quilt for a bed, made & quilted by more than one person.
  • 4. Quilt (not for a bed) or wallhanging, made & quilted by more than one person.
  • 5. Quilt or wallhanging made & quilted by more than one person, incorporating appliqué or other embellishments (eg embroidery, beading)
  • 6. Textile/fibre fun - maximum size is A3 (42cm x 29cm) - entries to be quilted, and can include use of various fabrics, fibres, bead etc.
  • 7. Any other quilted article, not a quilt, which may incorporate patchwork &/or appliqué. (Suggestions: cushions, bags, bears)
  • 8. EXHIBITION ONLY - A quilt, wallhanging or other article which you do not wish to have judged; OR a quilt made by a GROUP (examples include friendship or block swap quilts; round robins etc).

 

ALL quilts will be entered into viewer's choice

 

2011 THEME QUILT: "Piece of Cake"

 

NB Please note that BENCHING TIME for the quilt section is on the TUESDAY afternoon before the show. We are fortunate to have accredited judges from the WA Quilting Assoc who travel down from Perth to do the judging. Judging happens either Wednesday or Thursday to fit in with the Judges. Quilts may be left at the Show Office, or with the Stewards. Thanks for your co-operation.

 

Special Regulations:

  • Sleeve (Finished width at least 3") to be attached to the back of the quilt or wall hanging.
  • Please note that very large quilts may be folded to fit on the hangers.
  • Your Quilt statement: Please attach approx 20 words to tell the story of your quilts. This should include details such as "original design" or the name & source of the pattern or kit used. Special inspiration or reasons for making the quilt. Was it made during a workshop? If entering the Theme Challenge - how  you have interpreted the theme. The judges read this to assist with judging and their feedback to you.
